The meeting between Mamata Banerjee and PM Modi comes at a time when her party, Trinamool Congress, is battling a crisis after the Enforcement Directorate arrested former minister Partha Chatterjee in an alleged money laundering case.
On Thursday, Mamata Banerjee met her party’s MPs in Delhi and discussed with them the current session of Parliament and the road to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Mamata Banerjee is also scheduled to attend a Niti Aayog meeting on August 7, sources said. A meeting with the opposition leaders might also be on the cards.
The Bengal CM might also meet the Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who is being probed by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case.
