The meeting between Mamata Banerjee and PM Modi comes at a time when her party, Trinamool Congress, is battling a crisis after the Enforcement Directorate arrested former minister Partha Chatterjee in an alleged money laundering case.

Mamata Banerjee is also likely to raise the issue of state GST dues at the meeting. The West Bengal government has alleged that the Modi government has not released Integrated Goods and Services Tax (ITGST) dues to the tune of Rs 27,000 crore to states.

Mamata Banerjee is also scheduled to attend a Niti Aayog meeting on August 7, sources said. A meeting with the opposition leaders might also be on the cards.

The Bengal CM might also meet the grand old party president Sonia Gandhi, who is being probed by the Enforcement Directorate in a money-laundering case.
