Mediterranean deaths: 800 people dead in 2019

More than 800 people have died this year trying to cross the Mediterranean, and the death toll is still on the rise.

In the last two months alone, dozens of bodies have washed up on Tunisia‘s tourist beaches bordering Libya, the main base for people smugglers.

Al Jazeera’s David Chater reports from the resort city of Zar Zis, which is now the new front line in the migration crisis.
